Magnetic Rods

Drawer Magnet

The drawer magnet, also known as a drawer-type magnetic separator, grating-style magnetic separator, or magnetic grate, is a highly efficient magnetic separation device specifically designed for free-falling powders, granules, and dry bulk materials. Inside the unit, high-performance rare-earth permanent magnets (NdFeB) are arranged in a multi-layer magnetic rod grid configuration, generating a continuous high-gradient strong magnetic field as the material descends under gravity, thereby precisely adsorbing and separating ferromagnetic contaminants from the feed stream. Its key advantage lies in its “drawer‑style structural design”: the magnetic grate can be swiftly removed as a whole, enabling tool‑free cleaning and significantly reducing maintenance time and downtime costs. With a compact footprint, the unit can be directly installed on hoppers, chutes, feed inlets, and vibrating screen outlets, making it an essential magnetic separation solution for ensuring material purity and protecting downstream equipment such as injection molding machines, extruders, and mixers.

OVERVIEW

Product Overview

The drawer magnet operates on the principles of gravitational descent and high-gradient magnetic adsorption. After material enters the device through the feed inlet or chute, it falls freely under gravity and passes through an internal multi-layer magnetic rod grille. The surface of the magnetic rods generates a high-intensity magnetic field of 12,000–14,000 gauss, which strongly attracts ferromagnetic contaminants in the material. Iron filings, iron powder, screws, welding slag, and other metallic impurities adhere firmly to the surface of the magnetic rods, while the clean material flows smoothly through the grille gaps, achieving automatic separation and purification. Once a sufficient quantity of ferrous contaminants has accumulated, the entire magnetic grate assembly can be periodically removed for cleaning and reused. Meanwhile, the staggered multi-layer magnetic rod design effectively eliminates magnetic blind spots, ensuring that the material maintains efficient and stable ferrous contaminant removal throughout its passage.

Features and Advantages
  • High Magnetic Separation Capability: The magnetic field strength on the surface of the magnetic rods reaches 12,000–14,000 gauss, effectively capturing micron-sized iron powder and weakly magnetic impurities.
  • Drawer-Type Quick-Cleaning Design: The entire magnetic grate can be swiftly extracted for cleaning without dismantling pipelines or shutting down the system, significantly boosting production efficiency.
  • Multi-Layer Grille Design: Supports single-, double-, and multi-layer magnetic rod arrangements, increasing the contact time between the material and the magnetic field for more thorough ferrous contaminant removal.
  • Compact Structure with Flexible Installation: Can be directly mounted on hoppers, chutes, feed inlets, vibrating screen outlets, and other locations, adapting to various production line layouts.
  • Energy-Free Eco-Friendly Operation: Utilizes a purely permanent-magnet structure, requiring no electrical power—zero energy consumption, silent operation, and low running costs.
  • Food-Grade Hygienic Design: Material-contact parts are made of 304/316L stainless steel, with smooth surfaces that are easy to clean, meeting food and pharmaceutical industry standards.
